Last Day - Noooo!

Well after another great night wining, dining but not winning so much we headed out again after breakfast for our last look around this magnificent place! We went back to the Valley of the Waves and had a swim, then healed ourselves in and around the adult baths, where there were only another couple of people. It's amazing for how many guests there are here, there's plenty of room for everyone and doesn't appear crowded at all!
We had a bit of lunch and a cocktail - as you do, then had to reluctantly get packed for our 2.30pm pick up.  We had organised the night before for a late check out and the reception girls were just so lovely and helpful and all they really wanted was chocolate haha! So we delivered the chocolate to them, some we had from Positano, and they were ever so grateful - you'd have thought they'd won the lotto!
We had a long drive back to Johannsburg airport as there was a strike on one of the main roads, so we had to detour, which added another hour onto our trip! Their strike is not like our strike - they burn cars and tyres in the middle of the roads and pelt rocks at passing cars - so hence the word out not to go anywhere near that area. Obviously, there are some places that are unsafe to venture in South Africa, but if you're sensible and heed the warnings given, we would come back in a heartbeat.
Our flight out was about half an hour late, so we hoped that we would still make our connecting flight from Sydney to Brisbane in time.  We slept for about 6 hours on the plane, which was great and arrived in Sydney in a little bit of a hurry to catch our connector, but it all worked out in the end.
An uneventful flight back to Brisbane in time to listen to the first half of the semi final between Broncos and Cowboys on the radio, then settle in to watch the rest on tv at home.
Scooby was very glad to see us, so we spoilt him and he watched the footy with us too.
It's always wonderful to go on a holiday, but always wonderful coming home and appreciating what we have here.
We've had a fantastic couple of weeks - lucky enough to share a wonderful time with friends in Positano, then the vast difference of Sth Africa and it's magnificent animals.

Until next time .......
