Positano -Day 2

Walked down the hills into the town and what a glorious place! It's quiet warm so had a swim in the sea which was refreshing to say the least! No white sandy beaches here - all smooth rocks of all shapes and sizes and black sand.  We had brunch in a delightful resorante by the water then walked around to another little beach and swam there again. Positano is just so colourful and vibrant - it's beautiful. The kayak tour we wanted to get on is booked out the whole time we're here, which is disappointing, so hopefully waiting to see if we can get on another.
Had a bit of a look around the shops which are all jammed into the tiny streets, lunched in another great place and then decided to hire a scooter. One of the other couples,  Kerry and PJ have too, so far and they are a Great way to get around and great fun. Have to have your wits about you a bit as the roads are quite narrow and when the buses round the corners you have to stop to let them through, but it's going to save is a bit of leg work with the stairs.
We had a big storm in the afternoon, and we were trying to keep just in front of it on the scooter, but didn't quite succeed! The rain drops were huge hitting and stinging us, and we were laughing like mad driving along - didn't look a bit like tourists!
More antipasto delivered to the Villa in the arv and sunset drinks on the decks.  Could get quite used to this way of life!

Beautiful morning here

  1. Wow, you are doing REALLY well with the blog. Good luck with those scooters, sounds a little dangerous to me. Sounds like you are immersing yourselves into the Italian life style with a bit of wine now and then. Shame about your kayak tour, hope another one comes available?! Despite the storm the weather looks pretty good with plenty of sunshine and good times. Looking forward to lots more from the Amalfi Coast. Love Pam and Vernon

  2. Thanks Pam and Vernon, it is just so beautiful here. Best time for me to blog is in the mornings this time, as afternoon vinos and antipasto take precedence! Love Deb and John Xxoo

  3. It looks just like in the movies. Quaint old stone houses or villas. Just gorgeous.
