Well, another beautiful day in paradise! We decided to take the scooters for a run along the Amalfi Coast up to Amalfi, which is about 20km from Positano, but took us about 40 minutes due to stopping and taking photos plus stopping for buses to get around the corners! Quite amazing! We have 4 scooters in our group now, so the other 2 couples Paul and Sandra and Mick and Karen, took a boat trip along the coast and met us in Amalfi where we had a fabulous seafood lunch at the waterside. Came out to grab our scooter but we'd parked it in the wrong place so had to find it, got a ticket and got on our way. It will mean another trip back to Amalfi to pay the fine, but there could be worse things to do! We'll make a shopping day of it! The mix up was the scooter hire guy had said we could park in the residents parking places everywhere and John asked "everywhere on the Coast?" The lovely Italian man nodding, but that wasn't right was it? Only residents parking in Positano so it turns out - ah Mam Mia! Anwar, we went for a couple of dips in the ocean to cool off and made the trek back to Positano much quicker as not as many people on the road nor photos to take.
Back in the village of Positano, poor Nell took a spill on her scooter into a shoe stand on the street, as it was very busy with a lot of walkers there, and damaged the front of the scooter just a little but shook poor Nelly up! The shoe store guy came out and snapped off the key in the ignition, apparently by accident! And there was a policewoman present when he did it, but apparently when statements were being taken neither he nor the policewoman remember the key incident?? Anyway, long story short, Nell loved the experience of scootering in Poistano, doesn't care to do it any more and we said to her next time she wants some Italian shoes, just walk into the store and buy them ok?

The Harris' and Kennys arrived shortly after we got back to the villa, so our group is now complete - 15! Of course had to have the ritual vino and antipasto on the deck and another great day/night was had in Positano! Arrivederci 🍷
Sounds like the scooters were a good idea for a time.....might be an expensive driving lesson maybe?? Must be a fantastic way to get around when all the plans come together. The water looks so clean, no wonder you are tempted to have a swim at every inlet. The scooter parking tickets were obviously a ruse to get you to spend more money in town, shame you'll fall for their clever plan?!! New leather shoes all round I'd presume. The food looks sensational, we had lasagna for tea tonight so we felt a little Italiano atmosphere! Enjoy yourselves now all the gang is together (watch out Italy I'd say!). Love Pam and Vernon
